There is nothing more aggravating than feeling like a wheel in a rut: spinning and spinning but not moving anywhere. A series of unsuccessful dates can turn dating from a fun activity into a rote chore into a painful punishment. How can you escape the frustration of the seemingly eternal dating slump?

First of all, consider whether there is a good reason why your past dates didn’t work out. Sometimes, you are not responsible for the failure- perhaps the two of you were simply incompatible with each other. However, if you believe that there is a common error in all of your mishaps, figure out a way to resolve it. For instance, have you been considerate in your conversations? Try listening to your date for a change. Are you still fixated on a failed relationship? Break off those emotional ties so that you can work on a new relationship.

Do you think you are doing something wrong, but you don’t know how to fix it? Ask your friends for advice! They can be a fantastic source of information for everything from the proper clothes to intriguing conversation to emotional bonds. Do something differently on your next date so that you don’t start feeling stagnant.

Unfortunately, a series of bad dates can even create a problem which wasn’t there before: low self esteem. Even while searching your past for possible mistakes, it is incredibly important to remain confident that you are a good person who can offer a lot in a relationship and deserves a good match. Self esteem is an attractive quality in a mate, so be sure to retain it! (Of course, arrogance is not an attractive quality, so don’t give your esteem too much slack!)

The last thing a person wants to hear from an advice blog is that there is nothing to be done. However, sometimes there is nothing you can do but be patient. Even if you have a high self esteem and you are altogether a fine mate, it still might take a long time to find the right person. But cheer up! You only need one good date to find your partner. Maybe you’ll find that someone on your next date! Don’t give up and keep on dating!
